DID YOU EXPECT TO BE TREATED WELL?
At the end of the day it has an impact on your job. You do not perform as expected, you get to break all communication with your colleagues or your employee. You feel belittled or less favoured in every situation.
The question is, how does this situation affect your communcation in the workplace?
Looking at this in a public relations point of view, you are going to participate less and end up quitting because of being uncomfortable at your own job, end up resenting it. You may even end up having anger problems.read more on bullying and work
For the workplace to be a healthy environment, there needs to be a two-way communication and understanding. Having to prove yourself can be hard, that is why organisations or companies need to at least have team building exercises.signs that you are being bullied

At times it may take confidence and self-esteem to stand up and take initiative than being made to feel like you do not belong.

I feel that being bullied and degraded in the workplace simply because you are fresh in the workplace can be challenging. I believe however that every individual who is new in the workplace should be encouraged to do their best through team buliding exercises. When I am in the workplace next year I will create positive work relationships with colleagues and for them to establish a good work relationship with me as well.
That is definatetly a positive spirit because when you are new at work or at the job ,you are going to want people to accept you, as I said that your communication level does become affected therefore it is up to the company and yourself to make others feel at ease one of the starting points is things like team building exercises.
ReplyDeleteTeam building is important in an organisation and it important for public relations practioners to encourage people to be involved in such activties as well as to promote good communication skills amongst the working place.
ReplyDeleteIt is not entirely up to you to feel welcome @ your work place.Work places should provide an environment that is condusive to all.Yes confidence does stand to your advantage but the company needs to do more in restricting good working environment.
ReplyDeleteI agree because it takes a whole team to win a game, therefore if the company managers work well with employees and treat them well, then obviously a condusive environment will be provided.
ReplyDeleteTeam building is one of the solutions, but we should all remember that the work place is just like the real world. Not everyone will be fond of u, but that shouldn't let u down always show ur full potential and forget abt office politics.
